Bereaved families of Ontario Halton/Peel & Orangeville District
Bereaved Families of Ontario - Halton/Peel is a self- help organization dedicated to assisting families who have lost a child through death. We also help children, adolescents and young adults who have lost a parent or sibling through death. Our programs are designed to help bereaved families cope with their grief.

Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services
Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services is a Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Service (VCARS) operating under the Ministry of the Attorney General, Victim Services Division. The not for profit, charitable agency, has been serving the Town of Caledon for twelve years and the County of Dufferin for six years. The police based, volunteer driven organization provides much needed support to victims in their time of need. The agency offers one-to-one, confidential assistance to help deal with the problems arising from an incident or situation, thus limiting the affects of crisis and helping victims to quickly return their lives to a desired degree of stability. Representatives of the agency work closely with community agencies to provide an efficient and comprehensive service ensuring that the needs of each victim are properly met. Emergency response personnel may call on the program, with the victim's consent, to provide immediate assistance OR may recommend that the victim contact the agency at a later time.

CHN is a national, non-profit, bilingual -based health information service. CHN's goal is to help Canadians find the information they're looking for on how to stay healthy and prevent disease. CHN does this through a unique collaboration - one of the most dynamic and comprehensive networks anywhere in the world. This network of health information providers includes Health Canada and national and provincial/territorial non-profit organizations, as well as universities, hospitals, libraries and community organizations.

The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) is the national association which provides leadership in hospice palliative care in Canada.

National Cancer Institute of Canada
The National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC) was formed in 1947 through a joint initiative of the Department of National Health and Welfare and the Canadian Cancer Society. The mandate was to bring together individuals and organized bodies with a view to reducing the morbidity and mortality from cancer. We fulfill this role by supporting clinical and laboratory-based research activities and research personnel, as well as through sponsoring workshops and facilitating cancer control planning.

Hospice Patients Alliance
The Hospice Patients Alliance was formed in August of 1998 as a nonprofit charitable organization and is a corporation serving the general public throughout the United States. We were formed by experienced hospice staff and other health care professionals who saw that hospices were not always complying with the standards of care, and in fact, were in some cases, violating the rights of patients and families and exploiting them for financial gain, or not providing adequate care to control pain or other distressing symptoms during the end of life period.

Council on Palliative Care
The Council on Palliative Care was established in 1994 by a group of Montrealers whose lives have been touched by the work of those associated with Palliative Care McGill. This group compromises over two dozen volunteers from many different backgrounds and from both linguistic groups in the City. 

The Council has as its objective the promotion of increased understanding and availability of palliative care within and beyond the McGill University health care network. It pursues this objective working through health care professionals, educators, practitioners and the public at large. Increased public awareness and public support of palliative care are its goals.
